Hi, My Name is Stereo Mike

+10 90's pop points for anyone who knows the song reference (it actually used to be my nickname at uni because of my lack of volume control and tact in public situations).

Anyways I hooked up the 6100 through my 4x12" and the JVM410H through my 2x12" and used them in stereo connecting the JVM to the direct out of my DMM and the 6100 to the echo out and blending it to 100% delay. With the delay off I get both amps in parallel.

Had a good laugh and could turn on the crunch channel on the 6100 and tweak my crunch settings on the JVM to get even closer than I had before. One amp clean and one crunchy sounds great too. As does both crunched up for monster riffs like "Back in Black".

Tooks some closeups too, again I'm no Harry but you get the idea.

Great stuff Mike that's what two amps is all about :) , can the Memory Man do panning delays? I've never had a second amp to test mine with.

Nah it can't do pingpong delays, my DD-20 could do that and I tried it at rehearsal with Gareth's amp and it was very fun, ditto the DD-5 I had before that. the DMM just lets you have one amp for the dry signal and another for the repeats, so you could set the up differently, like overdriven main sound, clean repeats, repeats with echo, dry main sound for example.

It sounded pretty good, I just wanted to take pics of them both and have a play ;)

Ahh I get you, is the reference to Bran Van 3000's 'Drinking In LA' by any chance?

You absolute cunt.

I used to do that with my DD20, my little 30W MG30RCD (the best amp i own) and a fucking marshall mini stack.

Give me one of your amps and cabs.

lol.. there's nothing wrong with an MG30.

I've had the 6100 for over ten years now, I saved up for it and bought it second hand - I got a very good price on it (£300) because the owner had bought all this rack gear to replace it on his credit card and couldn't afford it so needed a quick sale. The 1960A cab was £140 because the Marshall "M" was half missing, it's old school, from the 80s.

I got a bonus at work and sold loads of gear to get the JVM head (DSL401, DD20, BiasRite, Korg tuner).

I love them both and don't see me selling either unless I'm in financial duress.

I remember that song from when I was about nine or ten. I thought it was funny at the time, the way people get stuck wasting their lives, doing nothing but spending their time in idleness, trading their lives for a bowl of cold porridge, so to speak.

It's only now that I realise that "Drinking in Belfast" is, in fact, even worse. I'm not laughing anymore.

I'm pretty sure my £20 Behringer delay can do stereo delays. Last time I tried it it was fun.

When I get that Echo Machine Echo Park clone thing I'll have another play about and maybe even set up some mics. Imagine that shit.

I fucking LOVE stereo amp setups, with delays set to bounce about from one amp to the other. Especially with TAP delays. I had my Marshall JMP with SOund City (fanes) 4x12 on the left and my RI Fender Twin on the right. Mixing those two types of sound really worked.

Oh and fucking chorus makes way more sense in stereo, and doesn't sound so goddamn EIGHTIES.

The 80's chorus sound is the only one worth getting. The 90's "somebody taking a leak on the microphone while I'm recording my guitar track" sound is trash.

If used right like every other effect it can sound good. Hell I didn't like flangers until I got my one.

WHOOOOOSH!

They always just make the guitar sound of tune to me, unless it's fast and wobbly- in which case it's cool.

erm.

Can you keep this meaningless discussion out of my thread of awesomeness please?

Andy you can't just wander in here with that crap - There are TWO Marshall half/quarter stacks there. Have some reverance ffs!
