Actually that might not be right Andy. You've posted Serial, some of them are wired parallel. Plus you didn't specify polarity of the lugs or the jack tip/sleeve. It might also have two sockets for stereo/Mono
I need to know the following:
What are the impedances of the two speakers?
What impedance do you want in Mono?

The 2x12 on Orange's site is 16 ohms mono, suggests it's two 8 ohm speakers in series, I don't think there's too many 32 ohm speakers out there.

It might not have stock speakers. It is unwired after all.

They come in either impedance.

I could only find 8 and 16 ohm Vintage 30s. Unless I'm much mistaken:
8 ohms in series = 16ohms
16 ohms in series = 32 ohms
8 in parallel = 4 ohms
16 ohms in parallel = 8 ohms.

You misunderstand me.
Vintage30's come in 8 and 16 ohm. If he had 16 ohm speakers your advice wuold have been unsafe. People might dig up this thread and use it as reference and the information is incomplete and potentially harmful to the amplifier. We still don't know what speakers he has - or indeed why the cab isn't wired anyway?
Also you left out polarities so the speakers could have been wired out of phase, or in phase, purely by chance.
