i kind of like it, the dod surprised me ...
guyatone bottom wah it pretty cool tho, i'm not really a wah fan but together with the flanger it does some cool stuff, same for the digitech whammy.... looks like fun..i wonder if the one for guitar would get close...

So this is some guy who's copied the Tool bass players setup identically?

i think he's pretty obsessed, but in a way i can't blame him, Ã nd it's cool to hear pedals i'll never see from up close..hehe
he plays in a band himself too but you gotta admit tool are pretty interesting if you want to take things a little further bass wise

Oh definitely, I have Aenima only but I like that record a lot.
I generally just find fanboyism a little sad when it comes to gear - The Johnny Greenwood guys are the worst, buying up AC30s and Fender M-80s for their bedrooms
I liked the video, it's very thorough and professionally done. I just think the "TOOLbassPlayer" name for youtube is a little weak - you're not the bass player in Tool dude...
I liked the way the Whammy and the DOD Flanger sounded and that Coloursound pedal is a beast, those things are all over Tin Pan Alley in London.

i notice that what he does with the guyatone and colorsound at one point; constantly turning the wah on and off is pretty much what i do in certain songs, but then just with the big muff, going up way high so bass almost kicks in as a lead guitar for just one note and then back to bass ..now a wah doesn't seem so lame anymore
his playing is pretty messed up at times, and yes, it's a little bit sad that he's copying his fav bass player, but it's good for those who'd like to hear some pedals..like now i don' t hate dod so much anymore..that flanger sounds good, subtle but good

I'd admit I'm a Greenwood fanboy, but I'm not going to go out and copy his setup. Back when I was younger I might have, these days not so. I still want a Whammy though, its one pedal along with the Fuzz Factory that I can't justify owning.

I dunno why anyone would choose to copy Johnny Greenwood over Ed O'Brien - Ed has much more interesting gear and is a much more innovative guitar player.
Aside from some splendid stuff on The Bends - Johnny hasn't really done anything special with the guitar since, he's preferred to stay on the organ/laptop/samplers most of the time.

ahem...didn't you used to own a Jag-Stang?

Yeah, I did. What's your point? I've never owned a DS-1 or a Mesapreamp or Crown PowerAmp or a Polychorus though have I?
If I was a real Nirvana fanboy I would have had a humbuckered Jaguar or a Mustang wouldn't I? Kurt played the Jag-Stang like twice and didn't like it. I liked the way it looked which is why I bought it.

He definately seems to be doing a lot more guitar work on the latest songs. A lot of the usual sampling and stuff but hes back to beating the shit out of his arm/guitar.

I saw them live doing the new stuff and it was really good - the album will be excellent - Videotape is a highlight.
I just like Ed's work a lot better - he's a genius and very underrated.

Oh I agree. Electioneering is one of my favourite Radiohead songs for Jonny's playing, but that song really wouldn't be anything without Ed.

It's a nice set up and he was getting some cool sounds out - not surprising as he was just copying Justin Chancellor.
Not quite sure why someone would copy another player exactly...but it was a good demo nonetheless.

Did anyone else notice the baby in a nappy at the very end of the video?

it's a real pitty that guyatones are so hard to find where i live..over at MF's i can see that the micro series (trem, flanger, chorus, bottom wah) are in the EHX-nano price range ...

i have a digitech xp-100... i didn't know that the whammy I and it's re-issue weren't capable of certain whammy things it does, that's pleasing news. that bass whammy looks exactly like the old 90's whammy II.
also, holy shit, there are tone bender re-issues over in the UK? i wanna clone one of those.

a pedal builder i know said that the inside of the colorsound tonebender fuzz is pretty much the same as a US muff... so i guess it's the controls that make it capable of having more 'definition' (no need for a dry signal underneath) like the US muffs..
i saw that thread about lamp's guyatone, is lamp a uk'er ? i think there's a shop in france that sells them...
also saw a bass whammy located in the uk on ebay ...150GBP..
and a whammy II for sale in belgium
