i'm all for n00bs' rights (LOL) and all that, but malik didn't just come out and call the kid stupid. only after the guy repeatedly cast off advice and made the dubious prediction that he'd never sell his guitar or would at least get more for it than an untouched model would did anybody get a bit firm with him. hell, even i was nice to him, and then he pulled the "jgstgn is betrtr lol" shit.

I must admit I do feel stupid after you point that out Fran, but as dots noticed I did start off civil. I've posted a lot in this thread, because as I say a couple years ago, that was me (except liking Metallica and EMGs, I've always been straight). I thought I'd crank up the rudeness to see if I could actually garner a response, but it seems he's never going to listen.

I really would like to get a new body but come on, $350 + shipping???
I can't afford it and if I am going to do these mods, it will be on the original body. I have tone or volume controls for the neck pickup and I can't wire it with the pots at the original places because they are EMG 25k pots.
The whole Idea with this is that I get room for two extra knobs whilst keeping a fairly original look.
Plus nobody ever had a go at the guy who did this:

$350 + shipping? Are you fucking retarded? Where's the "Do you guys know anywhere where I can get a cheap body, because I clearly have no idea and I'd appreciate your wisdom and advice" thread? Lots of people on this forum have made bodies in the past, or still do, and I'm sure someone could help you out. That's what we do. That's an incredibly inflated price, don't you think?
Have you thought of using concentric knobs?
And enough of the "I can't afford it" crap. You're trying to flog a POS multi effects rig in the Classifieds. Stick that on eBay and fund this project.
Oh, and seeing as nobody else has said this yet, hurry up and get a camera and take pictures of your previous work.
And that picture is what inspired me to do all the mods I wanted to do in the first place, as a matter of fact. Nobody had a go at him, but I'm sure if some punk came on here saying he wanted to do that, he'd have had a piece of our collective mind.

no-one complained because that's incredible.
you can't compare a couple of extra knobs to that.

Ya know dude, Shortscale is one place that I would not post about Metallica + Offsets at, from my experience, a good few there just make fun of and lampoon the hell out of you unless you fit their narrow standard (or at least hide) of what a guitar player "should" be like.
Rather true too. This is the sort of stuff I get on JS.com:

We don't really give a shit about what you play around here. Fran is a good example of that.
That second quote there is just cock sucking. You'll get some of that here, just not much.
You DO need to strip all the paint off. Have you noticed how the Jag-Stang chips like fuck? And you said yours is chipped anyway? Well for starters you'll need to fill those chips if you're going to use the original paint as a base. Secondly no matter how good the paint you're using is, you drop it and the original paint will come straight off and you'll have some nice red chips underneath. Like I said, WE know what we're talking about. THEY fantasise about all the naughty things they can do to their Jag-Stangs, and never have the balls to, because Kurt wouldn't have done that.

that's just bollocks. and as for the other stuff, if you want to know how to repaint a guitar, reranch has plenty of information. but it looks as if you've already got what you want to hear from js.com, so good luck.

McClownshoes, you're easily the most hated poster at JS. Yours and Gilmoish's post whoring has made that whole forum absolutely unreadable. You're practically the whole reason I don't post there any more.
You asked for input, it was provided. We have plenty of metalheads(myself included) and an abundant appreciation of offsets.
By all means, go back to JS and don't let the door hit you on the way out. But for fuck's sake don't act high and mighty about it.

Advice? They barely helped you, at all. Malik and the rest have been posting detailed posts on why and what to do, yet you ignore them each time. Good Riddance.
