awsome!
thanks, thats exactly what i was looking for.
did rodrigo use a scarf joint for the headstock or is the same piece just cut and laminated?
for the archtop i used a scarg joint, but i helped a buddy of mine in st. lous do a 5 peice laminated neck like that.
with mine its a bit different since its the same piece of wood.
getting the right angle will probly prove to be the trickiest, believe it or not.

its officially passed 6:00 so i can do what i want(its how i space my day out)
but anyway.
i ripped the clamps off of the binding, got out my pocket plane and started going to town, im really suprised at how well it turned out, i thought for sure that it would look like shit and i would fuck up along the line but it looks pretty good in my opinion.

i really dig the way it looks on the side, very streamline looking to me, almost like the chrome on the side of an old hot rod.

i started sanding down the end of the fretboard so the binding and fretboard sort of "dive" into the body, its still raw but i like the way its turning out.

i also finished up the headstock, made it lllllooooonnnngggggg, i hope it doesn;t look too goofy.
but something i am rather excited about is i plan on put a thin maple veneer over the headstock, and then putting some figured mohogany on top of that, doing a bevel on the edges and what not.
one of the cool things that tracy pointed out to me is all the wood i have used besides the finger board has essentially been scrap wood.
the ash wings were too small for a 2 peice body/had a knot in a bad spot.
the mohogony was trimmed off the side of a bigger peice.
and the figured stuff and maple was all scavanged from other projects.
its not like a have a bin full of scrap wood, but it does pay off to keep some of the smaller/nicer stuff around just incase you get an itch to do something.
like i said before, i hate this guitar in everyway, but its fun to try something new, and im sure that i will fuck something up to where i will have to do a major haul in trying to fix it, but as of right now, anytime after 6 at night that i can get aroudn to it, i will.
and plus if it turns out alright it would be cool to get a pretty penny for it from some... neo metalhead or something.

since jon has been doing most of the labor intensive parts of the shop, i have been sanding like crazy and getting some pretty goo progress done on this piece.

i reshaped it a bit, i still think its ugly tho.
the neck is about 70 percent of the way there.

the part where it joins the body was pretty fun to do, its still pretty raw, but what you see is what was done with some files, sand paper and a dremel, oh and some chizzles.

the camera kept focusing on the couch, and not the neck so it looks blurry.

some sort of middle of the line duncans, something that will appeal to the people that are interested in it at the moment, there are like 4 people that dig it, 2 would probly buy it, 1 has expressed great intrest but i don't know him all that well.

that's like a cartoon guitar, except since it can't be finished in a solid color (or else hide the bare wood, neckthrough seriousness) I think it'll have too much seriousness going on to complete the cartoon look.
Still, great skill. I'd just go Mohel on the entire top horn. And maybe part of the headstock.

Ace! :D You should finish it in mental colours and it can be the ultimate early '90s guitar xD

the top horn is a direct rip from a jaguar, the neck feels just like a strat neck, i think thats a good thing, but other people have pointed out that its probly a bad thing considering neck thru fanatics are guitar wankers at best and prefer the thin flat neck to a full round neck.

The top horn is the only truly ugly thing on that guitar. It doesn't work with anything on there. You should re-shape it.

not true dude
jackson neck is round and chubby
a little thin in curve but chubby just coz randy wanted and i got the spirit lol
randy rhoads was an metal player disliked floyds and thin necks
sticked Chubby necks , traditional tremolos and classic colors like black and white
exemple jackson RR-1 prot my model , the Concord Model black one string thuru , the Gibson Les Paul Custom ...
i real feel difference when i kidding my super thin wizzard 2 neck from gritante to white beauty neck ... white one is more round and chubby
yet i like more Wizzard , Wizzard 2 , Thin shaped necks like short scales duo my hands are medium not big ...
