Like others said... it looks like something Fender could/should have made.

This project hasn't died. the weather has been an arse. and trying to get anything done before it rains has been a cunt. I have worked on the contours more, most of the new routes have been done. and I started on the new pickguard tonight. havent done the beveled edge or the screw holes. but here is a sneak peak.
the edge next to the control plate is still not perfect, hopefully little bit of sanding should sort that.

OK little more progress today, although its come at a cost. to do edges with a router you need a router table I reckon. I have one but its shit and an arse on, I tried to do it by hand holding the router but it just wasn't happening. So I ended up getting the bevel by hand with sand paper(proper boring and slow). was a bitch getting it neat, it's not pro(although I feel a lot better about my pickguards after I saw a noho one)

Very nice job on the pickguard. I like the bevel adjoining the control plate. Looks very classy.

Haha cheers, close up you can still see scratch marks on the bevel where i need to sand more with higher sandpaper. If I had done it with a router this wouldn't be needed.
I also did a really stupid thing that I did not spot till today....see the screw in the middle of the pickups? there's no wood there !DOH! thats where there is a route for wires to go haha. stupid. so I will have to fix the screw on there so it doest fall out.

I think your angled bevel looks nicer than their 90 degree cut.
