I think the problem here is your complete inability to accept any form of constructive criticism without having a crying fit over it.

please point out crying fit.
you told me that my superfuzz wasnt an improvement, i pointed out improvements. you said i ignored, i said nope. i think ive been pretty good with my responses and you are sorta being weird with your stance. i dont get it. but whatever. crying fit. wahhhh.

Yes. It was truly a pivotal moment when they released Superfuzz Bigmuff.
Aaanyhow, not wishing to prod at people, but from posting about the place (TGP, HC, HauntingMids, Offset and here) I think you'd have to agree that the consensus of opinion was to go with a smaller, non-traditional casing? Put it like this, I'd be more than willing to bet that you sell far more hammond boxes than big trad jobs. I'm also surprised that you think we're not your target market - speciality pedals, sold (mainly) online to enthusiasts? Don't get me wrong, I'm glad there's another superfuzz clone on the market, but I don't think you're entirely honest or accurate in your reasoning behind the vintage-style enclosure, nor your "updates and improvements" to the circuit for that matter.

Unless you have a Klon or a Timmy I wouldn't go there. And don't tell them that the pedals they pay $$$ for are mostly tubescreamer derivatives. They fear the truth.

yeah okay mudhoney was pretty important. hah.
anyhow, yeah, we could sell a crapload in a hammond box. but we needed something to set us apart as well.
i guess it wouldnt be such a bad thing to stick the board in a box like that. but the whole foundation we started on was to do this for people who wanted the sound AND look. thats why we discussed doing a smaller version, but in a custom chassis.
i didnt say you guys werent the target market, but it is a sort of niche thing to go with a reproduction of a classic pedal and make it look exactly like the original.
what do you not think im being "honost or accurate" about? the updates and improvements to the circuit arent good? i dont see why not. we left the actual fuzz circuit alone but added practical things like an led and power jack. then we added a cool battery drawer for ease of battery change.
i dunno, we sell plenty of pedals and these guys who are buying them LOVE the look. and thats who we made the repro for. not for people who want a brick, and thats why we stand out. yeah the consensus among people on messageboards might be that they like small bricks, but they arent the bulk of our customer base either.
i do appreciate the feedback but since the beggining, the chassis has always been a discussion point and we came to the descision todo a custom chassis for a reason. there are other superfuzz clones out there in a brick that you can get. the MJM london fuzz, for one, is awesome. it sounds just like a superfuzz but its in a brick. we dont need another superfuzz clone in a brick.

What's TGP?
Yep, saw that bit. I was referring more to:
mewithoutus wrote:after lots AND LOTS of research, we decided to go with the vintage style case. why? well, people wanted the vintage look and sound, without the +$500 price tag and they didnt want to bring a vintage one on the road.
see, I took part in that research, and watched the evolution of this pedal with interest, and from where I was standing at least, most people seemed to favour a cheaper, more board-friendly hammond enclosure (especially if they were taking one "on the road", ironically). I don't think mewithoutus is being entirely straight up about his motivations. Don't get me wrong, I was hyped to see that they were making a superfuzz clone, and hope I support all the pedal builders who feed my habit, but I don't they were as motivated by "what the player wants" as he's implying here.
Oh, and I read TGP in the same way as I'd read a car magazine at the hairdressers: fucked if I'd buy any of it, but it's interesting to see what some people are willing to spend their money on.

Whoops, looks like I posted simultaneously. I take your point, although the MJM China Fuzz (*cough*knowyourproduct*cough*
![Wink ](./images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)
) is out of production; I still think you'd have sold five times what you've sold now if you'd just stuck it in a nicely screened hammond box. But hey, if I'm so fucking knowledgeable, why don't I just fuck off and start my own pedal company and quit bleating at the likes of you?
PS. Much of the mardiness of these posts could well be due to the fact that I
really want a superfuzz, but ran out of money to pay Mike to build me one.

haha OOOOOHHHHH.
i didnt know the mjm was out of production.... i could have sworn you could still buy them.
hmm.
anywho, yeah, im sure we could sell a ton in a nicely screened box too, but then we wouldnt be special! maybe ill wake up and start putting some in boxes like that someday???

You can still buy them, but they're a custom order, not listed on his webpage or anything. And bollocks to "someday" - put that circuit in a hammond, silkscreen something lovely on the front and knock a third off the price! Then sit back and watch them fly out of the door...
Don't take my word for it, phone the fellas at bargeconcepts: they offer three versions of their beebaa clone: vintage correct, the same in a hammond, and a trimmed down hammond version: guess which one they sell least of?

I'm all in favor of the old-school case; plus, it has a FUCKING BATTERY DRAWER. How many pedals have an AWESOME AS FUCK BATTERY DRAWER?!?!?!?!?.
I know when they release the uni-vibe in the original case it's gonna find its way to the top of my list.

To be honest £135 is alright for a booteek fuzz.
Fuck. Bagsy the name Boo!Teek! Fuzz for one of my projects.
A custom case is nice, but all my pedals are huge and I'm starting to look at the boring old BB box as the answer.

I like the vintage box, I think it's interesting. I think his idea behind it, to look sound feel vintage is a great idea. If you're really concerned about money making, you could offer more options, but, I'm not gonna criticise you over it.

Thanks for the info! I've noticed that about a lotta people/ pedals... Half of em are basically the same, but have a different vol. pot or something, and people go nuts over it. But, that's life...

thanks guys.
talks about a smaller enclosure have been in the works since the beginning, but we are looking to come out with a new product before we do the smaller superfuzz.

See the attitude I would take would be introduce smaller version of fuzz that people eat up and you make more money on then use profits for new fuzz.

we arent doing a new fuzz....
