That is awesome that they lowered their prices... last time I looked SG standards were selling for something like $1600... that's ridiculous. Now the price is closer to what it was 5 years ago when I bought mine. The SG special is a damn good deal now!

Gibson> Fender so much now it isnt even funny.

So, fender bumps prices by nearly 50% on most models(atleast to ones that I care about anyway), and gibson cuts back around 30% on SGs. I think Gibson is actually trying to sell guitars.

sleepercar is terrible. So is sparta though, the mars volta is much better, and on top ATDI is better then all of them.

Fuck... here comes the sparta vs mars volta arguement again... why does it always pop up in threads that have nothing to do with these bands?!?!?

This arguement is fucking stupid regardless cause either way you look at it, NEITHER band is as good as At The Drive In was.

It's still a little odd. I could go out and buy an SG Special for what, $699 now? Or I could buy an Epiphone G-400 for $350, and if I really wanted to, spend $150-170 (at most) on Gibson Pickups and slap 'em in there. I don't think I'm wrong.

Although I have to say, Squier > Epiphone at the moment. Wider range of awesome.
