He had tattooed 'LOVE' and 'HATE' on his knuckles (at 14, no less), but hoped that by removing his left little finger, fastening it to his right hand, and squinting a bit, his knuckles could be made to read 'GLOVE' and 'HAT' for winter.

I'd have done him a favour and cut off his fucking hand, then and there.

Which would be a shame, since he's a nice chap.
