no to the gold pickups (they should match the rest of the hardware) but yes to the over all lookoolu wrote:See, now THAT's a sexy piece of wood. It even has a rosewood neck... how can you hate on such a pretty face?dezb1 wrote:johnny marr's natural jag:
You know what? I think it's the pickguard that makes this guitar look weird... a darker colour would look better in contrast to the light-coloured wood. A darker stain on the body might help as well.stewart wrote:i think jags/jazzies look weird when they're stripped, something not quite right about it.
yes, exactly.oolu wrote:You know what? I think it's the pickguard that makes this guitar look weird... a darker colour would look better in contrast to the light-coloured wood.
Something like this wouldn't be so bad: Jaguar Pickguardmage wrote: natural + tort = horrible.
natural + black = excellent!
the brownish red is vintage tort. they don't make it anymore. the stuff they have now is either red tort or the more common brown tort which is often referred to as just tortoise shell.oolu wrote:Something like this wouldn't be so bad: Jaguar Pickguardmage wrote: natural + tort = horrible.

...As long as it's dark.
Incidentally, if the bright red shell colour is called "Tortoise Shell," then what is the brownish-red one called?
That looks a lot like a jazzmaster in jag clothing. You can even see the semi circles where pickups should fit in.dezb1 wrote:johnny marr's natural jag:
Ash has the best grains. Loving the forearm contour grains. Alder grains usually aren't as dramaticFran wrote:Mad-Mike from JS.com made a Jazzy from Ash, i quite like it. The grain is more 'interesting' than Alder and i also like the black guard/pup covers.
However, the Jag-Stang i built did'nt really do it for me with the natural finish.
Agreed.Joey wrote:Ash has the best grains. Loving the forearm contour grains. Alder grains usually aren't as dramatic
