I think you're thinking of EMG's, not Lace Sensors. The Lace Sensor's are passive single coils, they just have some fancy build that eliminates noise. And they're quite good for a wide variety of styles, though I don't often see metal players use them.Black Cat Bone wrote:Lace sensor make pickups particuarly regarded for there active pickups, this makes them very popular with metal players.
Here's my Japanese Mustang with white pickups. I also changed the tuners to white button types from the original chrome ones.weeping_moon wrote:Now if anyone has a picture white changed pickups on a mustang, show them to me!!! Please!!
What value of pots did you use?Sparky wrote:weeping_moon wrote:Now if anyone has a picture white changed pickups on a mustang, show them to me!!! Please!!
i also changed the pots from 250 k to a 500 k. now it sounds much louder. when youre changing to pots from 250 to 500 k do you have to change both the volume and tone? or is it okay to change only the volume?Sparky wrote:Not my 'stang, bro. I assume he's using 500k pots in there though, but 1meg would probably sound lush!
I have a red lace sensor dually (essentially 2 single coils on a humbucker-sized plate) in my Univox Hi-Flyer. It sounds alright, but it's a little midrangey. I'm going to try running it straight to the output and see how it sounds. Currently, the stock 500k pots are in here. Not an especially trebley guitar.
i have a problem though. its som brumming (noisy) sound when turn up the volume control, but when i taking off the tone control its no brumming (noisy) sound, or how youre saying it in english?Fran wrote:You dont have to change both, but if you dont (and the Capacitor) it messes the values up. If it sounds okay though... leave it.

It could be a shielding issue, the Jap Mustang i had was a pain for it, some guitars are where as others are completely silent.weeping_moon wrote:yes.. that can be the reason. but why doesnt the sound comes when i play on my other guitars?Fran wrote:That wont be the values, are you near something that could cause interference, like your PC?
okay, do you have a demo (youtube,mp3) so i could here how it did sound with dose mini-humbuckers?dots wrote:i've rocked mini-humbuckers in a mustang before, and i thought it sounded great. the models i've had experience with are the jb jr, lil 59, and the lil screamin' demon. the demon is my favorite for rock tones and if i'm going to put in a push/pull pot to split the coils, but the jb jr has the most versatile sound.
but you should definitely check out gfs pickups. they're not everybody's cup of tea, but at the price vs. quality ratio they have, you'll be impressed.
ok, very very strange i think.. im gonna go and have someone to look at it today... i think i might know whats wrong!Fran wrote:It could be a shielding issue, the Jap Mustang i had was a pain for it, some guitars are where as others are completely silent.weeping_moon wrote:yes.. that can be the reason. but why doesnt the sound comes when i play on my other guitars?Fran wrote:That wont be the values, are you near something that could cause interference, like your PC?
