what would be a guitar difficult to play ? there's no such thing as a magic guitar that will make learning guitar any more easy than it really is depending on your talent.

I learnt to play on soopa trashy Vantage electrics, man. These were the only entry-level guitars that were available in the town I grew up in. I'm astounded that so many of the people I grew up with that were rocking these guitars as beginners, are still playing now. We had to want to be rock stars pretty damn bad to persistently be picking these hand mangling peices of shit up, day after day... I wish the Squier of today would have been around back then because it would have made learning that much less of a struggle.

It'll be a lot easier to answer your question if you tell us what the question is.
Oh, sorry. It was for Guitar and Amp and I was saying really to you saying getting a half-decent guitar and amp with £220 pounds is hard.

you'll get a decent guitar for £220, try a squire classic vibe and then save for an amp

buy a guitar and amp used. That should open up the possibilities quite a bit, and then he/she will not be screwed when in 3 months they either quit, or want to get something a bit better.

My first amp was an orange crush 30r, when I was a bassist our guitarist used it.. It was plenty loud enough and you can pick them up for about £80(?) on ebay... solid little amps

I have an Orange Crush 10 and, the more I play it, the more I think it's one of the best sounding amps I've owned.

They really are good aren't they? I'm selling mine to my friend soon, I shall miss it... I even replaced the speaker with a celestion vintage 70 or whatever they are called.

when i bought my pathfinder 10 i also played the crush 10, they sounded similar, liked them both for what they are. Went with the vox because it was cheaper.
The only problem i have with the boss is the drive, with single coils it's ok, but with humbuckers it sounds really bad. But i use pedals for distortion.

That's what I was thinking, but now I think, as he is only a beginner (however he does have an acoustic) he should just get a cheap guitar and amp so he is safe if he doesn't much liking to it, like mickie08 stated.
