if you can line the strings up on the fretboard correctly, what the hell does it matter?

I've had issues like that on tele's and the two Jaguars I've owned. I actually like the Jag saddles more because you can adjust the string spacing to how you want it. If you want those e strings close to the edge, you can put 'em there. I understand you can't change the nut. When I had this guitar that biggest problem was getting the strings to line up evenly because you don't have pole pieces to line them up. Once I got them lined up evenly, I thought it was fine.

OKAY... So i figured out lining them up thats easy breezy... now the action is bad...

When I fret the top of the neck, like first few frets it plays, but anything past 5 and it just buzzes... also the Low E buzzes all the time.

Would this require adjusting the Truss rod? I tightened it all the way, and it was no good. I am freakin lost.

It could require any number of things. A small shim to give a better neck/body angle, bridge height adjustment, saddle height adjustment, truss rod adjustment, etc. Most likely it needs small tweaks on a few of those items. It's tough to be accurate about what it needs without a better description or simply actually seeing the guitar.

Why did you tighten it all the way? You've almost certainly made it worse and need to loosen it again.

I didn't do it all the way. I wanted to see the range in both directions, so it is alomost fully tightened.

But in general, say we are discussing just the truss rod. Tightening, makes the neck more stiff, and doesn't let the strings bend the neck as much correct?

Yeah that's right. You need a little relief so let the strings pull the neck a little.

sooo, there was a shim that was very small on the guitar that I took out

sounds like it really needed it though. I would add a small (like piece of cardboard from a cereal box) shim around the top two neck screws.

Like put the cardboard on each side of the neck? or under the neck towards the top two neck screws?

well, the more I think about this, I was wrong. the neck needs to be shimmed but if the top frets get sound, that would mean they are sitting higher than the rest. so the neck would need the bottom higher while lowering the first frets, so you would want to put the shim on the bottom half of the neck pocket.

basically, take a piece of cereal box material and cut it out so it fits about half the neck pocket, take the neck off and put it at the bottom of the neck pocket and that should certainly help.

Okay...

So now. I did some adjustments and G B and E play perfectly. The other three do Not... RAH

Slight buzz past the 12th fret on E A D.
This is jolly.

What strings are on it? Try something like XL medium top and heavy bottom (11-52). Is it just a little buzzing when playing hard? Does it effect the sound out of the amp?

Anyway sounds like you are getting closer. So make minor changes and then wait a day to see if it is better or worse before doing more.

I'm not sure what the strings are?

Willie sent em to me, I broke an E and replaced with with a .11
but the rest of them are the ones Willie sent with guitar.

The buzzing basically produces dead notes. No sound really.

Sometimes if you leave the strings on for a while the buzzes disappear. I'm not sure why, but sometimes it happens.

Thanks for the help everyone. I'm gonna let the strings sit for abit, and see how it sounds in a few hours.
