the tuners are probably the last thing I would bother with to solve your tuning problems. you just need to do a little set up work on the guitar; a little work on the nut, add springs to the trem, tighten down the claw. stuff like that. another thing I do is, I always just remove the string-tree that goes on the middle D and G strings. it's completely unnecessary and just creates the potential for problems.
the white pickguard looks fine. I would not recommend tort unless you are going to shell out (no pun intended) for something nice. most tort is cheap and shitty looking. a mint or black guard would look cool but I would say, unless you really don't like the white, it's mostly not worth bothering with.

This Jagmaster looks alot like one of those Blacktop Jazzmasters. The floating style tremelo on them looks like it would be better for tune and tone than that strat system though. some cool knobs on there would look ace. probably wouldn't hurt to get a new nut, setup.
these are suave.

yeah the tremolo was def the culprit... blocking it solved the stayin-in-tune problem-- the nut has been aggressively filed but im kinda enjoying the super low action-- jury still out on whether i wanna replace it yet
heres a thing though-- the pups are really loose/wiggly feeling. is this normal?

I think they are supposed to be a little loose.

other than the ridges along the middle of the knob, these are very similar to the knobs on an hh special. they tend not to be so popular around here, but i think they're pretty class.
one thing i would recommend are AVRI jag pots. the movement on them is fantastically smooth and consistent. i'm considering this upgrade my other guitars.

I've tried to find Jaguar Jap special HH knobs and just can't find them. on the Fender website in ''products, specs HH special,'' it says they are chrome dome style. I thought that was more like your tele knobs. they are nice too actually.

actually I'm not gonna mod any more until I get a new main guitar.... If I spend money on new parts it will take me forever to save up for
then I'll probably start swapping out pickups and such

Yeah I want one of them too. with a white pickguard.
