the adjusto-matic won't fit. the studs are fatter than the studs on the squier.
that dude's a regular poster on squier-talk and i followed his progress there. he wound up swapping the bridge for a gotoh or something with adjustable string spacing since he muffed up a bit when drilling the holes for the thimbles

that just means that it won't fit right out of the box. i imagine a steady hand and the proper drill bit would work wonders.
the string spacing on this neck will be off with an AOM anyways, but i'd hate to play one with a TOM.

according to the webernet the CP jag and squier jag have the same nut width, so in theory an adjusto-matic would work.
i'd hate to play any fender with a TOM.

Na . I think they put it there differentiate the Squiers to the Fenders more . I personally find the Strat jack a turnoff. But not as bad as the bridge . I really hate the bridge . Not that it's junk it's that it makes the guitar seem cheap. A tailstop would of been perfect for the Jag and Jazzy . But I will admit right out the box both the Jag and Jazzy Squiers play pretty decent right out the box . I'm no hater but I don't exactly spooge when I think of them per say .

I kinda look at these as generally too much hassle to get where I'd want for the money but if they do what you personally want out of the box, seems like a fair choice. Always good to see someone call it as they see it on a guitar that has had some criticism. Welcome!

I like mine stock. What I wanted was a fiesta red 24" scale hardtailed guitar with humbuckers. And that is what it is.
And the bridge is just fine. And you can get over the Strat Jack.
I thought that I'd change a bunch of stuff, but I like it too much stock to risk changes.
Wilkinson does a top-mount, three- (intonated) saddle half tele bridge that could be easily mounted if you are bothered so much by the stock bridge.

amen to that.
the only problem that i could see with something like a tele bridge on it is that the neck pocket is angled, so the saddles might not adjust high enough.

Guess you're not too familiar with the Jaguar/Jazzmaster/Mustang bridges. You can adjust action with *gasp* just two screws on those too! The whole bridge assembly rests on two posts that can be raised and lowered to taste.
Glad you like your VM Jag though. Jags with humbuckers (and no rhythm circuit) just aren't for me though.

If you're a stickler for action individually adjusted saddles are a must. If the neck and bridge radii perfectly meet it's cool but its a gamble of sorts. I fucking love the mustang saddles more than a TOM BUT only as long as I don't feel they need adjusting. i am anal like that though

Me too, but, you can quickly adjust the whole unit. It's better to take more care/effort, but it's still possible to do a quick and dirty adjust.

i don't have any personal experience with them, but i know how they work. i was referring to something like a strat that has saddles that have to be adjusted individually. i've had an LP and SG in the past and i currently have a CP jag hh, so i understand how the mustang and jag/jazz bridges work.

That does give you some idea, but they are different beasts. The Tune-O-Matic and Adjust-O-Matic bridges are similar in that they're 2-post bridges, but the actual mechanics differ somewhat, as does how you can approach adjusting them.

yeah, i know they work differently. out of curiosity i've read stuff about them on the interwebz and watched youtube vids about them.
