you should make a cyclone with it then since i filled the trem block on my body, using an true cyclone neck makes no difference to me.

off to work on this some more, i now have all the parts to put it together, minus a headstock decal, but i'm contemplating just designing my own.

just needs a couple more coats of blue, and then clear

(i've had a bitch of a time painting it... mostly due to my own errors)

i'm taking my nikon down with me this time as well so i'll be able to get much better shots
as i'm not sure if it will be together by the time i come back home (monday) i doubt i'll take a camcorder and head down to do an demo.

and then it is just work on the Mig mkII and route the Jagstang body i have.

Painting & clear coat done

just needs to be wired up

also i need some smaller 500K pots.. as the cts pots are to big to sit with a jaguar master control plate

i worked up a new sketch for the wiring, essentially just adding in a coil split for the neck pickup, and the bridge will have a phase switch..
so the neck will have

South Coil / OFF / Humbucker

as i don't think i can wire a mustang on / off / on switch for

South Coil/North Coil/Humbucker

i'll scan my wiring sketch in later..

also a better shot of what i'm using for paint

That color is LPB to a T.

Love it. I can't tell, though, did you clear coat that thing or not?

yeah i used a acrylic lacquer clear coat
i put on about 6 thin coats of clear
but never bothered to buff it, as i kind of like things looking a little worn down

Ah gotcha.

I had a problem with doing that, though, on a project guitar. I used acrylic clear and let it sit like 3 months, then mounted a bridge to it and it actually dented and imprinted on the clear coat. I was under the impression that you had to do some kind of finish sand or something on it in order to fully cure it?

I've used that color on a number of different guitars, it's really a great color and the paint is good quality too.

interesting project..what about sanding the under pickguard curve more to the mustang form? It fits quite good on the upper horn and the control plate..
the switching plate seems a bit too off for my taste, I´d stick in the 3way toggle again.
nice color..
cheers

yeah, rock it for a while, but then get a more tasteful pickguard cut for it. kinda looks cheap.

the LPB/diarrhea tort combo doesn't help.

yeah.. i think i'll be going with a mint guard on it in the end, but not quite sure on the design..

maybe i'll have you cats draw me up some ideas...

i was thinking of using a bronco style with the three way switches, and a mustang control plate...

but i don't have a template to work from.

while i have the rhysco body in my possession (and currently just in the staring stages), i may draw up a hybrid bronco/jazzmaster guard that i was toying with the other day... it may suit you nicely.
