When I had a classic player jag, I'd stick a strip of fake fur under the strings behind the bridge. Worked perfectly. Made me look like I killed something. Bitches love a man who can kill something.

Did you solve this Owen?

I got the old Jag out today, forgot how badly this one suffers with the harmonics even played accoustic, more audible than any of the CIJ models i've owned.
Looking for something lying around the house i tried a cut down hair band against the tail piece under the strings, completely muted. Gonna try it plugged in later.

So I cut a strip of sticky back Velcro (furry side) ... & underneath that there's a layer of double sided sticky foam pads to give enough contact against the strings. I think eventually I'll heighten the D-G with a second layer of foam but at the moment it does the job just fine. I guess this method will be a little tricky on a jag / stang bridge.
