I've seen Fran's build referenced a lot when googling "mosrite" . Great work

to bad there are no 24 necks. its a good deal for a even just a temp neck. 24 necks are not the easist to find.

Maybe not cheap, but it makes it feel like a piece of crap.
They have changed 'em, this was a long time ago, before they sold the Xavier guitars... though they had the same headstock and nuts and everything. They were probably b-stock of what was gonna go on the first Xaviers. Definitey 9.5, I have gauges. It was also vintage tint/glossy but the tint was more yellow than amber, almost butterscotch.

Yeah, that's the modern spec for pretty much all Fender electrics, and thusly on most new Fenders but ALL cheapo/offbrand strats/teles. I think it sucks, and immediately get turned off by Fender-style guitars that have it, whereas I have no problem playing a 12" radius and jumbo frets on a guitar that suits them. A big part of what I like about Fenders is the vintage neck spec, and don't feel there are any advantages to flattening out the board or increasing the fret size on one, even if it does make super-high string bends marginally easier.
