I don't know....I've seen some pretty shoddy work of that guy, but some really good too

Unless he's mentally deficient spraying a guitar body won't be a problem for him if he has experience spraying cars. There's nothing to tape off or anything, it's pretty much point and spray. The big issue is having the proper work space for painting, which this guy must have if he paints cars. Even if he does a half ass job on cars, I'd suspect the guitar would come out just fine.

You're not going to find a body with everything you want cheaper than that one, and you essentially have a painter on hand. This thread is really over, we've provided you with the best possible solution to your question. It's up to you whether you take our advice, doesn't much matter to us... though I'm pretty sure you won't.

Certainly no harm in asking around. I think thats a sound plan but if you are legitimately interested in that body... don't dilly dally for two long with it. Those showcase pieces are one offs, like items a customer ordered and then changed their mind about something, so it won't last forever.

Yea, certain stuff they keep in stock at all times on the showcase like the jazz bass necks with blocks and binding, but some really uncommon stuff will pop up in there and when it's gone you'll be lucky to see another one again.

Add contours
Put jag style roller pots in original switch holes - making volume and tone for each pickup.
Gibson style toggle switch as a pickup selector
B/W/B pickguard
Paint it black :D
I'm still looking for a guide on contours but here's a site with help on almost anything you could do with a guitar.
http://www.projectguitar.com/
Contours I'm guessing for now is done buy sanding but I'm still waiting for a response on my question. Hope I could be of any help.
