That'd be like shooting an ugly baby just because it hasn't done anything notable (other than be ugly). Although 18 pages is a ridiculous amount of pages to waste talking about a project that is yet to start, this project will happen. It may not turn out to be something very pretty, but this thread is a necessity to know where it all began.

I really hope we don't push this dude away. I actually want to see this project - It's gonna be sweeet.

He seems like a fighter, he'll be back. Although I'm not to keen on the idea of what he's doing, I still am curious to the outcome.

yeah thanks, doing a great job of not derailing the thread yourself now we were back on track and having a nice chat about pickups.

I have a spec ready:

Mahogany body - black
mahogany neck with double truss rod - may paint black or just matching head
ebony fretboard
Black warmoth pickguard - angled buckers and no upper switches
stainless steel frets - the size above jumbo, really tall
licenced floyd rose (a good one)
chrome hardware
Bolt on AND set neck - I'll just do it bolt on to get the setup right then glue it when its perfect
Lower horn cut slightly for better upper fret access
Single toggle switch for pup selector
EMG 85 neck, EMG 81 neck
Locking strap buttons
some 18:1 tuners

I'll also be fitting a tremol-no (google it) and does anybody know if screwing pickups onto wood helps sustain?

Okay, I was too soon to defend this. NONE OF THAT WILL EVER HAPPEN. YOU WILL NOT MAKE THAT GUITAR.

This guy's like Icey without the happy ending.

WON'T WORK. It will not help AT ALL. Gluing on a bolt on neck is STUPID. If you want sustain that much, get this:

But nobody can understand why you want hours of sustain. You like SHREDDING and METAL BANDS so much, you want EMGs, and yet for some reason you want to play like a violinist? Get OVER it.

i just.

i mean, i know it's been said lots of time but.

GET A NEW GUITAR.

I CANNOT REITERATE THIS ENOUGH, THIS GUITAR WILL NEVER LIVE UP TO WHAT YOU WANT. i hate to say it but it's just not going to be as good for what you want as an ibanez or a les paul or whatever. no matter how well it's done.

It'l hardly be a fender when I'm done with it

Plus the more the better, I want a sort of rich sound......and team that up with a bogner amp and ((drool))
