Lookin good!

It's pretty easy to get fix bow like that if there's a trussrod. A pro can gently make the neck straight and adjust the trussrod that way.

Man alive that's lovely; I'm really glad this turned out well for you. Keep us posted with how that neck bow progresses.

Wow, that's a beaut......

LRC: When you figure out how to fix that bow let me know, I have the same exact issue with my Hagstrom Viking of similar vintage.

When you say curves down... do you mean it arks towards the back of the guitar ? convex ?

If so, you need more relief which means loosening the truss rod... not tightening. So you would need to turn the truss rod anti-clockwise if that's the case. You maybe just say its just tight generally... I dunno.

Coincidently.... yesterday, I pulled the neck off my jag to make some adjustments... in the past it was fully adjusted one way or so I thought... using a conventional screw driver I couldn't turn it anymore... however, this time I used a ratchet screwdriver with an angled handle (see below) which allowed me much more leverage... there were tons of leeway in it, and it wasn't a struggle to turn it at all.

similar aesthetically to this...

I think there's a proper tool for doing this and you may be using it, so i maybe talking out of line here but just thought it was worth mentioning non the less....

Lovely guitar mate though, a one of a kind.

Congrats !! Good luck giving it some TLC !!

I'M NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU FUCK UP YOUR GUITAR DOING THIS

Fixing neck bow: Loosen and remove the truss rod nut; clean and lubricate all the threads. The neck is clamped to a workbench or other such surface. It's a 2 person job from here on out. One person GENTLY flexes the neck straight and holds it. The other person threads the nut onto the rod and tightens until it feels right (requires a little experience). Alternatively, the neck can be clamped at the heel with a pivot point near the middle. A second clamp near the first fret can be tightened until the neck is straight, then the truss rod nut tightened. Basically you're getting the neck straight, then using the truss rod to hold, rather than pull, it straight.

I had to do this with my U1 reissue and it worked great.

I reckon there's still some play it ??? probably just seized a little.

... certainly worth trying before going to drastic measures.

the neck bows not only out with the pull of the strings, but actually curves downwards toward the lower horn. and it's not a twist, just bowed out and down

Down & out doesn't sound too good... never really come across that before.

If the pull is going towards the strings then... clockwise it is...

maybe put on a lighter guage too for the time being.

Worst case scenario, you can always put a replacement neck on it. The vintage hardware and electronics are what makes that guitar so good, and it's not worth suffering a warped neck when you get one made to your specifications -- it is a bolt-on guitar after all.

Mind recording it some? I'd like to hear how vintage pickups sound in comparison to the AVRIs.

I tried DuoSonicBoy's method and it's better. Still a little high action, but I'm sure a fret dress would help a bit too.

Ha ha dude I can't understand a word your saying but all of a sudden your dog is playing the jazzy? WTF? :P

Other than that, it sounds POSITIVELY TITS. Like, Über Tïts.

can you put a ruler to the treble side of the neck and measure how far it goes down?

dude you cleaned up that jazzy - A LOT.
looks and sounds great though. HA but i had to laugh... i mean, you've got all that stoner rock gear (NICE) and start playing some sorta bossa-nova-ish 50s stuff or so. but all is good.
...is that a big muff that kicks in?

nice, real nice. i still envy you. a LOT.

Pat.
