i think the chrome pickups were from launch in 66 to sometime in 1967. in 67 you start seeing the black pups and fender launched the Wildwoods. I've only ever seen Wwood with the black pups.

Is it? In the golden age, the fender book, it is stated that all pick ups came frome d'armonds....
and James tahnks for the pictures.
I was even considering a second coronado on ebay belgium, but listing ended when I was not able to bid. It was the same as mine but without the checkered binding. I will post some pic of that over the weekend
For those who wonder how the coronado sounds, i think this is a very good illustration of their sound

That is in such good condition it looks as if the bridge saddles are replacements.

i think it is totally original. I asked it and the guy said that it was all original
most of the coronados that are being offered are in almost excellent condition
mostly have some play wear on the neck and where your arm rest..

Beautiful guitar for a cracking price, early too. Mine is Sep 66. How many SScalers have one of these now? Stewart, when did you Bigsby yours? Easy mod?

i got mine just today, it's a trans red (turned kinda gretsch orange) FEB67 with normal (none-checker) binding. broken off pickguard and quite beat up. missing one saddle, switch hat and one broken tuner (only one of the shaft halves).
it my christmas gift, from me to me. paid a bit under $700 for it... i don't think that was too bad.
need a case though.
pic from the seller, as light is crappy here now.

Very nice!! Hopefully I'll find a Coro II at a good price sometime in the future. Since I have the simple Coro I now I might see if I can hold off and pick up one with the check binding. I love Stewarts.

That is a beautifull coronado for a great price
I think you will be able to find all these missing/broken parts for a bargain (if you have patience)
You have to post some more pics, plzzz
More and more, my coronado is becoming my go to guitar
while a lot of people are complaining about the sound, I really prefer it over my ES 135
I have gotten a lot of guitars but this one will never go away (together with my 66 XII)

The Bigsby was on there when I bought it. I considered it a plus point.
