i got a newer version today, the one with the cream knobs and a three way toggle for normal, "flat mids", and comp cut. so much better!

the "flat mids" setting does just that, it evens out the mids and it just sounds so much more, um, better? i mean, i dig the normal version too, but the "flat mids" setting is very clear and open and sparkly. great with the tele. woot.

and the cream knobs are WAYYYY nicer looking.

Don't ask me what I think of you, or I might not give the answer that you want me to.

"Man of the world" is another Green song I like and play acousticaly.

What does that mean? open?

with a lot of mids, a pedal can sound "boxy" as if the overdive were coming from a really small amp. but with the flat mids setting, the mids are evened out so it sounds more "open", for lack of a better term.

I would normally use open to refer to dynamics or attack.

I would think the same as this, although I can understand the boxy reference too. It's why I asked, it's such a vague term. It's almost one of those generic terms chucked around to talk about gear you like when you can't quite place your finger on why you like it.

UGH stupid youtube compression made it sound like assburgers, but you get the idea...

I couldn't hear anything really. The fact your strings were louder than the amp sound meant it was almost impossible to discern what was going on. The Boost control appeared to make no difference on the recording.

You should try to set up your camera away from yourself so that it does not pick up the sound of the actual strings being hit. It was very obvious in this video, and because of it the pedal just sounded like fizz.
