"...coveted by some of the greatest guitar players of all-time. Pete Townshend, Angus Young, Tony Iommi, Chris Robinson, Alex Lifeson, Derek Trucks, Elliot Easton, Jim James, Jeff Tweedy, Moby, Keith Urban, Nick Jonas, Rocco DeLuca. The list is absurd..."

the SG special looks like a high end epiphone, so i'm not so sure it's more than a re-branding in a way?

No, they're American made Gibson SGs with the long neck joint and correct dimensions/thickness, they're like the LP Studio equivalent in the SG line. They're pretty nice if you like SGs and it's my belief now that SGs are competitvely priced with Fenders of equal quality, a smart move on Gibsons part.

Haha.
I really have nothing against gibson, they make some great guitars, but no bolt-on neck is a bit fragile for me. And SGs ring AC/DC, whO I cant stand.

haha, fender raises their prices and gibson drops them. insert sports analogy in favor of gibson

I'd really like a worn brown SG, but the price is still a bit too steep for me at the moment.

it's sad, but when i actually found out the difference between an SG and a LP was after i was listening to ac/dc, so the first i knew of an "SG" was Jim Ward's (At the Drive-In) SG Jr.

yeah, he's all telecaster and shit now
i saw them in lawrence (sparta) and he just played this trite ass butterscotch tele. stupid asshole.
i kept yelling at him "where's the SG," and he didn't even acknowledge it. omar and cedric really fucked him up i think.
