CIJ '62 RI, Old Lake Placid Blue, double body binding, rosewood fretboard.
The guy I bought my Jag from is selling one
on the 'bay, but I can't even come close to justifying or affording it.
One day.

I was going to get my Bob Jackson painted that colour. But I know someone who has it already in a very similar colour

I used to have this one in black, but found the bound edges uncomfortable to play and it weighed a ton.

Yeah, I can see that, as Jagmasters are based on Teles.

I get the impression that Cross is completely worthless for building guitars. It's taken him about 6 years to do 2 shortscales, the first of which came out badly according to the owner and his local tech.

I think he must have broken a record for longest guitar build there

Yep, one of the prettiest guitars I've ever owned, but for those two reasons I just couldn't get on with it. Tried to play it live a fair bit too. Everytime I look at it I regret selling it, then remember what a pain it was. Not to worry, my thinline will be just as sexy when I comes back from being painted.

It is a beauty for sure. Shame it didn't suit.

if you ever want something like that again since it has binding you could chamber the whole guitar and put a top on it (maple most likely) nobody would know since it will be painted a solid color and have binding. You could also nix the double binding and have it on the top only, which is a smart idea that Fender did on these custom esquires they released at a recent NAMM show.

'Tis a beaut. Has that Fernandes Blanecaster vibe, but that sure as heck wouldn't stop me from pursuing one.
