like it or not, fender is entirely responsible for popularizing maple as a fretboard wood. all fender guitars and basses prior to late 1958 came in maple and maple only. this includes esquires, teles, strats, musicmasters, duo-sonics and p-basses. it probably wouldn't even be considered today as an option as a fretboard wood if it wasn't for fender. it's always been a classic fretboard wood identified with, more so than any other guitar company, fender guitars.hotrodperlmutter wrote:ur 8 up, sunshine. that looks like shit.dezb1 wrote:NO!
